Liedakademie Public Master Classes and Concert

From June 17 through June 20, Thomas Hampson leads public masterclasses with the current cohort of Liedakademie fellows, exploring musicality, technique, and interpretive expression in art song. Audiences have the rare opportunity to observe these rising artists at work alongside Hampson, while literary scholar Günter Leypoldt contributes essential political and cultural-historical perspectives.
The masterclasses and workshops from June 17 to 19 form part of the festival theme, ‘American Song — Home(s) in Song.’ Developed in partnership with the Collaborative Research Centre ‘Home(s)’ at Heidelberg University, this initiative creates an immersive space to explore concepts of belonging, identity, and musical expression in the United States.
The week culminates on June 20 in a finale concert featuring all thirteen Liedakademie fellows, showcasing the artistic development, vocal technique, and interpretive depth honed over a year of intensive study under Artistic Director Thomas Hampson.
