Concerts in Dresden, Vienna, and Bratislava

This December, Thomas Hampson will appear in concert at venues in Dresden, Vienna, and Bratislava, singing a wide variety of familiar and festive repertoire.
On December 3, Hampson joins the Zürcher Kammerorchester, under the baton of Daniel Hope, for a Christmas-themed concert at the Frauen Kirche Dresden. It’s a welcome return for Hampson, who has collaborated with Hope and the orchestra several times, most recently ringing in 2025 with a New Year’s Eve concert. This time, Hampson will perform selections by American composers Aaron Copland, Jessie Montgomery, Leonard Bernstein, Florence Price, and others.
Hampson joins Das Erste Frauen-Kammerorchester von Österreich on December 7, singing a special benefit concert supporting the continued existence and future of the long-established ensemble. Hampson and the orchestra will perform selections that bridge eras, cultures and musical languages, featuring works by Hugo Wolf, Rebecca Clarke, Samuel Barber, Caroline Shaw, and Franz Schubert. The performance will take place at Vienna’s beautiful Lorely-Saal.
On December 16, Hampson appears alongside tenor Giulio Putrino and pianist Elitsa Desseva for a benefit concert supporting the restoration of the Church of the Order of Malta in Slovakia, located beneath Bratislava Castle. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the renewal of this historic and spiritually significant building. In the first half, the trio will perform arias and duets from beloved operas, including Le nozze di Figaro, Don Carlo, Hérodiade, and others. The second half features holiday favorites like “O Holy Night,” “I Wonder as I Wander,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
