‘Freedom Unbound’ in Brazil

Thomas Hampson joins the Orchester Wiener Akademiem and Hamburg Chamber Ballet for Freedom Unbound, a program of orchestral and vocal music, recitation, and dance, with performances on August 25 and 26 at São Paulo, Brazil’s Teatro Cultura Artística.

Leading the production is conductor Ilia Korol, with choreography by Edvin Revazov. Based on the ancient myth of the rebel Prometheus, whose actions aimed to free humanity from ignorance and oppression, audiences will be treated to music by Beethoven, Schubert, Mahler, Ives, and Weill, as well as the world premiere of Vladimir Genin’s Contra Spem Spero, based on the poem Hope Against Hope by Lesya Ukrainka.
