In recital with Ksenija Sidorova at the Verbier Festival

On July 20, Thomas Hampson reunites with virtuoso accordionist Ksenija Sidorova, performing at Switzerland’s Verbier Festival. The two will perform an original and eclectic recital program, which has previously been seen in Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands.

The recital begins with selections from Hampson’s acclaimed interpretation of Franz Schubert’s melancholy Winterreise, joined by Sidorova on the accordion instead of the traditional piano accompaniment. The song cycle is complemented by several iconic melodies by Kurt Weill, as well as Igor Stravinsky’s Tango, Sergey Voitenko’s Revelation, and Astor Piazzolla’s Tanti Anni Prima (Ave Maria).

Hampson’s complete recording of Winterreise is available from EMI Classics.
