Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert with the Vienna Academy Orchestra

Thomas Hampson joins the Vienna Academy Orchestra on February 23 for a program of Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, under the baton of Martin Haselböck.

Hampson joins the orchestra for their Mozart set, where he will sing “Hai gia vinta la causa” from Le nozze di Figaro, a signature role for the baritone. He will also lend his voice to the elegant concert aria, Rivolgete a lui lo sguardo and the rousing Ein deutsches Kriegslied. He will return for three of Schubert’s most beloved art songs, his lyrical Ganymede, introspective Memnon, and the haunting Erlkönig.

Two works by Beethoven bookend this classic program, his gripping and dramatic Overture to Coriolan, Op. 62 and his beloved Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 55 “Eroica.”
