On February 9, Thomas Hampson appears for the first time in Oman, joining the Muscat Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Opera Choir Group for a program of timeless classics.  Performed under the baton of Lubnan Balbaaki at the Royal Opera House of Musical Arts, this special concert celebrates baritone’s legacy as the “Ambassador of Song.” 

In an interview with Bachtrack, Thompson elaborated on the impact of song on his artistry, saying, “In whatever language and whatever epoch, poetry is a metaphor of the experience of being alive, and it is that that inspires composers to match that experience in a musical language. The magic of song is everything that is not being said or heard. It’s a dialogue, describing and emoting feelings, capturing a particular moment in time. In a way, it’s a self reflection.”
