Schubert Week returns to the Pierre Boulez Saal with Thomas Hampson

Continuing a new tradition, Thomas Hampson’s annual Schubert Week returns to the Pierre Boulez Saal this month. Hampson will open his curated week-long festival with a performance on January 13 of Winterreise, Schubert’s most celebrated song cycle, for which his longtime piano partner Wolfram Rieger joins him. Over six days, established as well as rising artists will take the stage, and Hampson will lead public workshops with students from the Lied Academy of the Heidelberger Frühling Festival.

On January 17 & January 18, Hampson will lead students from the Liedakademie of the Heidelberger Frühling Festival in a two-day public workshop. The young singers and pianists will present the results of their work in a final concert on Saturday afternoon, January 18 at 16:00. On three evenings during the Schubert Week, the Pierre Boulez Saal welcomes back Schubert Week participants from last season who are about to embark on an international career.  A complete list of events and more information about Schubert Week is available via the Boulez Saal website.
