“No Tenors Allowed” Concerts in Grafenegg and Ravinia
Thomas Hampson and Luca Pisaroni head to Austria and the United States for their successful “No Tenors Allowed” concerts this August.
Beginning August 4, the duo will perform at the Wolkenturm in Austria under the direction of Manfred Honeck with the European Union Youth Orchestra. The program will include famous arias and duets from Bellini, Verdi, Rossini and Mozart, as well as Strauss’ stunning Suite from Der Rosenkavalier, and Respighi’s symphonic poem Pines of Rome performed by the Youth Orchestra.
Shortly after, Thomas Hampson and Luca Pisaroni will travel to Ravinia. Hampson will host a masterclass at Bennett Gordon Hall on August 6 for the Ravinia Steans Music Institute singers.
On August 7, Thomas and Luca will perform their “No Tenors Allowed” concert at the Martin Theatre. They will share the stage with pianist Kevin Murphy, in a program of popular songs, arias, and duets from Mozart, Leoncavallo, Massenet, Gounod, Verdi, Bellini, Arien, Porter, Berlin, and Borodin.
