Brahms and Schumann with Martha Argerich in Hamburg

Thomas Hampson and pianist Martha Argerich will take the stage for their first-ever joint performance on June 30. The concert will take place during the new week-long Martha Argerich Festival, hosted by the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, featuring Ms. Argerich in concert with internationally renowned colleagues.

In the beautiful Laeiszhalle – Great Hall, the program will include Brahms’ Sonata in A major and Liebeslieder with the Europa Chor Akademie Görlitz, and Schumann’s Fantasiestücke and Dichterliebe. Hampson has a rich history of singing Schumann’s lieder in live performance and on recordings; he has also extensively studied the composer’s works.
