‘Le nozze di Figaro’ album nominated for 2017 GRAMMY Award!
The recent Deutsche Grammophon release of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, featuring Thomas Hampson’s “wondrous” (Online-Merker) portrayal of Count Almaviva, has been nominated for a 2017 GRAMMY Award in the “Best Opera Recording” category. Other artists featured on the album include Luca Pisaroni as Figaro, Sonya Yoncheva as the Countess, Angela Brower sings Cherubino, Anne Sofie von Otter is Marcellina, Christiane Karg sings Susanna, Rolando Villazón stars as Basilio. Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads the Chamber Orchestra of Europe on this momentous recording, part of a multi-year series of Mozart opera releases on the Deutsche Grammophon label.
