‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ on Deutsche Grammophon is now available for pre-order

Thomas Hampson is featured in one of his signature roles, Count Almaviva, in a spectacular new recording of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro. The album is the fourth in a series of Mozart opera releases from Deutsche Grammophon, in collaboration with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Rolando Villazón. Pre-ordering is now available via the following link for this must-have recording, which is set for worldwide release on July 8.

Thomas Hampson is wondrous as an arrogant and superb Count, whose sublime aristocratic and measured gestures give nuanced interpretation. His knowledge of legato and his keen intelligence of the role give more soul in each of his appearances. Rarely has a “Contessa perdonno” been more delicate and moving . . .” (Online-Merker)

This live album was recorded at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden in 2015, and also features Luca Pisaroni in the title role, Christiane Karg as Susanna, Sonya Yoncheva as Countess Almaviva, Angela Brower as Cherubino, and Rolando Villazón as Don Basilio.
