By programming in-depth conversations and educational events, the Academy strives to give young singers a breadth of tools and knowledge to enhance their artistry. The credo of the Lied Academy, which reflects Thomas Hampson’s belief in the unique impact of art song, is that singers should tell compelling stories through song, and express music in a more engaging manner through the stories.
Thomas Hampson, America’s foremost baritone, hails from Spokane, Washington. He has received many honors and awards for his probing artistry and cultural leadership.
