RADIO BROADCASTS OF “HEART OF A SOLDIER” ON SEPTEMBER 8

Nearly after a year after its world premiere, the San Francisco Opera’s production of Christopher Theofanidis’s “Heart of a Soldier” can be heard on radio stations across the U.S. when it is broadcast through the WFMT Radio Network (information and a list of stations can be found here: http://www.wfmt.com/main.taf?p=12,10,5,6).  In this acclaimed work, Hampson created the role of Rick Rescorla, the true-life hero who saved the lives of more than 2700 of his co-workers at Morgan Stanley during the 9/11 attacks, but perished when the Towers collapsed. Reviewing the opening night performance in San Francisco, the Los Angeles Times reported, “Hampson chewed the scenery and sang magnificently…At the curtain call a few moments later, many still had tears in their eyes. The great baritone Thomas Hampson, a larger-than-life Rick Rescorla, won our hearts.”
