The Gala Concert on January 27, 2006, will take place at 6pm CET (the hour of Mozart’s birth). Under the direction of Riccardo Muti, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will present a unique musical event together with the soloists Thomas Hampson, Cecilia Bartoli, Mitsuko Uchida (piano), Gidon Kremer (violin), and Yuri Bashmet (viola).

Excerpts from the program:

• Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in C major;
• Sinfonia concertante’ in E flat major for Violin, Viola and Orchestra;
• Symphony in D major;
• Motet ‘Exsultate jubilate’;
• Arias and duets from “Le Nozze di Figaro”, “Don Giovanni” and others.
